CARING FOR NEWLY PLACED FLAGSTONE
In order to keep your new flagstone in the best possible condition, the
following is suggested:
(1) You may step on freshly placed flagstone two days after it has been laid, but
make sure you place your feet in the center of the stone.
(2) Heavy objects (such as patio furniture or planters) can safely be placed on
freshly laid flagstone in two to three days.
(3) Do not use deicers on flagstone ever. It will cause flagstone surfaces to scale.
We advise use of sand (without salt) or kitty litter to provide traction on these surfaces in
lieu of deicers.
(4) Never strike at flagstone with a shovel or sharp object in an attempt to remove
ice. Sharp blows to flagstone will cause the stone to shatter.
